BEIJING, China – Boundless Dynamics, the emerging Embodied AI powerhouse founded by former Horizon Robotics executive Zhang Yufeng, has officially appointed Xia Zhongpu as Co-Founder and Co-CTO.
Xia, the former head of end-to-end autonomous driving at Li Auto, will spearhead the development of multimodal large models based on native world models. His mission includes building high-performance data loops and cloud-based simulation infrastructure to accelerate the evolution of “General Brains” for robotics.

Boundless Dynamics was established in 2025 by Zhang Yufeng, the former President of the Intelligent Vehicle Business Division at Horizon Robotics. The company is dedicated to overcoming bottlenecks in hand-eye-brain coordination for robots. Xia Zhongpu brings a wealth of high-level engineering and research experience to the team:
- Li Auto (Leading the Industry): As the lead for end-to-end autonomous driving, Xia steered the team to achieve China’s first mass-produced end-to-end AD solution, propelling Li Auto into the top tier of smart driving.
- Baidu (Apollo Foundation): He was instrumental in building the Apollo prediction module framework from scratch and transitioning decision-making algorithms toward a data-driven paradigm.
- Academic Excellence: A PhD from the Institute of Automation, Chinese Academy of Sciences (CASIA), Xia spent the past year focusing on world models and reinforcement learning at CAS.
